This wild tamarind is foraged by tribes in the Eastern Ghat mountains during a short harvest period that lasts a month per year when the tamarind fruit is at its peak ripeness. This tamarind is jammy, fruity and tangy -- perfect to brightness and fruity acidity to your dishes.

+ Tamarind grows wild in much of South India and is a source of income for tribal communities living in the Eastern Ghats who forage it every season and sell in the local markets. Our tamarind is sourced directly from the foragers.

+ To add brighteness and tang to soups, stews and curries
+ The fruitiness of the tamarind works well in baking -- a great addition to add tang to fruit pies.
How to use it:
1. Soak 1 tsp ball of tamarind in hot water for 10 mins
2. Squish the tamarind with your hands to release the pulp ~30 seconds
3. Strain the liquid and use it. Discard the tamarind fiber
